What high blood pressure means
Blood pressure is the force of blood against the artery walls. The World Health Organization describes hypertension as a common reason for heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease, and notes that many people have no symptoms. A single high reading in a shop or at home is a reason to recheck, not a diagnosis by itself.
Symptoms, and the lack of them
Most people with high pressure feel well. Headache, nosebleed, or chest discomfort can have many causes and should not be used to guess the reading. Low pressure can cause dizziness or fainting and also needs a reading, not a guess.
Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk
A lipid report lists cholesterol and triglycerides. High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, and high triglycerides add to long-term risk, especially with diabetes, smoking, or high blood pressure. The visit can explain a report you already have. It does not start a statin or any other medicine from this page.
What raises the chance of high pressure
Age, family history, extra weight, salty food, low activity, tobacco, and heavy alcohol are common contributors. Kidney disease and some medicines can also raise pressure. Those need the doctor’s reading of your own reports.
When to book, and when to use emergency care
Book when repeat home readings stay high, when a lipid report has not been discussed, or when pressure tablets need a review. Crushing chest pain, sudden weakness on one side, trouble speaking, or a severe headache with a very high reading needs emergency care immediately. Do not travel to this clinic for that.

No. The sign says he was formerly at Escorts Heart Institute. Cardiac care on that sign is physician care. A cardiologist is a different qualification.
Can cholesterol and blood pressure be reviewed in one visit?
Yes. Bring both reports. The visit is a consultation, not a promise of a particular reading.
